The LMC-J-0040-2 is an opto-electronic distance measuring module for
industrial applications. The module operates on basis of comparative
phase measurement with amplitude modulation. The laser diode (cw
operation) has a divergence of 0.6 mrad for measurement with pinpoint
accuracy. The sensor is equipped with RS 232 or RS 422 serial interface
as well as digital and analogue (4…20 mA) output. The maximum data
output rate is 50Hz. The different configuration parameters can be set
via serial interface using a regular PC. The easy to understand ASCII
protocol can be used to set, for example, the measurement rate, data
format (binary, hex- or decimal code), digital output settings, analogue
output settings, etc. The laser works with cw laser diode which visible
